A Legacy Spanning Generations
The foundation stone of Thaokar Group was laid by Shri Marotrao Vithobaji Thaokar with the support and help of his better-half Shrimati Bagherathabai in 1950's. The journey of Marotraoji started by selling baskets full of tobacco to the daily market made by Bhagerathabai on a bullockcart.
The second generation led by Shri Gunaji, Shri Prabhakar and Shri Ratnakar Marotrao Thaokar, invested their heart and soul to make it a household name in the Nagpur region. After receiving a wide acceptance of the product, they planned and decided to open a manufacturing facility in East Nagpur and sales office in the then business district, Itwari, Nagpur and were amongst the first to introduce the semi-automated machinery in the tobacco industry.
The Flagship Product of the Group "Sarvotkrusht Nagpuri Tambakhu" better known as "Thaokar Tambakhu" and is a market leader of chewing tobacco in Central India.
Attaining the pinnacle in the Tobacco industry in Central India, the third generation of the Thaokar's, led by Mr. Kamlesh Gunaji Thaokar and Mr. Rajan Ratnakarji Thaokar are spearheading the Group's global thirst by diversifying into varied industries, verticals and geolocations. Within a decade's time, the group has diversified into other sectors, such as IT & ITeS, Fitness, FMCG & Real Estate, with a manpower of 370-plus and increasing, and having a global presence with a major customer base in Middle East and Africa.

Rajan Ratnakar Thaokar
Managing Director
Rajan Thaokar is a commerce graduate with a master’s degree in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom.
He is Joint Managing Director of Shree G.M. Thaokar Tobacco Pvt. Ltd., a legacy brand popularly known as Thaokar Tambaku, and Founder & Managing Director of the RnR Group of Companies, which crafts ERP, CRM, creative brand-building solutions, Ronplay Kids for gamified early education, and a unique farm-to-fork concept empowering farmers.
Rajan also serves as Senior Vice President of the Indian Chamber of International Business, Patron Member of MACCIA, and heads the International Business Cell at Saturday Club Global Trust, actively supporting global trade opportunities for Indian enterprises.
He is also a member of the Vidarbha Industries Association and a committed Rotarian currently serving as President of Rotary Club of Nagpur Udyami.
